On your marks, get set...Ho Ho Ho!
With less than 50 days till Christmas, St Clare Hospice is getting into the festive spirit early with the launch of their annual Santa Fun Run.
They are expecting hundreds of people to don Santa’s famous red suit for the yuletide event on Sunday, December 8, which this year is starting here, at Harlow Leisurezone.
To help launch the Santa Run, Hospice mascot Clare the Bear was put through her paces on the treadmill by Harlow Leisurezone’s Rocky the Rhino to make sure she is fit and ready to join all our Santa Runners at the starting line for the 4km run or walk.
St Clare fundraiser Grace Malek said: "Taking part in our family-friendly Santa Run is the perfect way to start your Christmas celebrations and support your local Hospice at this time of year.
"It’s great fun for all ages and it’s quite a sight seeing all the runners heading off wearing their Santa suits, hats and beards. There’s always a great atmosphere and it’s just the thing to get the whole family into the festive spirit."
Registration costs £15 per adult (includes a free Santa suit), £5 for children (includes a free Santa hat) or £37.50 per family.
St Clare is also holding a Santa Run in Loughton on Sunday, December 1 and another one for corporate supporters in Epping on Thursday, December 12.
