Hundreds of jobseekers attend Harlow's largest ever job fair
Over 1,500 jobseekers came to Leisurezone today for free career advice at Harlow’s largest-ever recruitment event.
Friday’s jobs fair, organised by MP Robert Halfon, featured more than 85 companies and organisations offering employment advice and job opportunities.
Professional careers advisors were also on hand to check CVs and offer tips on interview techniques, while various seminars ran throughout the day-long event to give those seeking a job the best possible assistance.
Afterwards, Mr Halfon said he had been "overwhelmed" by the response to the event.
Speaking to the Harlow Star, he said "This took six months to organise and it was a team effort with support from Mike Jackson, Ian Hudson and the JobCentre,"
"There was a fantastic turnout and if we can get even one more person into employment from this – even though I expect a lot more – then that would be wonderful."
He added: "If we can secure the funding each year I would hope to make it an annual event as the response so far has shown that most people found it beneficial."
Leisurezone were pleased to host to the event and hope that the opportunities highlighted at the exhibition bring great benefits to people to Harlow people.
